RE: help setting up satellites.

Bill, Talk to the dish Tech, he should be able to help you hook everything up or at least that is what one Tech told me. I'm sure there is someone here who can help you but they may need more info. Good luck

RE: LCD tv reception

Popsie most likely has your answer. Make sure you have the right input, antenna or cable, then do a channel search.

RE: Success or failure: help from the manufacturer

I have to agree with SuperGranny. I had my dealer contact Coachmen about warranty work on my slideout. The slide was 3/4" lower on one end than the other. The dealer told me that Coachmen would not adjust the slideout as long as it operated smoothly and did not leak. I contacted Coachmen and was given the same answer. It took me, 30 minutes to adjust the slideout myself. My response to Coachmen was, "don't expect me to have anything good to say about Coachmen and their quality of work. This problem was caused by poor installation and failure of quality inspection.

RE: Slide adjustment .. passenger side

I had a similiar problem only mine was noticeable inside the RV. I contacted Coachmen and they told me if it operates OK and does not leak, they would not approve warranty work to have it adjusted. It only took about 3 minutes to adjust. I ran the slide out, then placed a board underneath the slide along with a car jack. I applied just enough pressure with the jack to take the load off the adjusting bolts. After making sure all bolts were loose that attach the slide to the support bracket, I raised the slide with the jack to the position that was needed to level the slide, then snugged up the adjusting bolts and locked them with the lock nuts. I then removed the jack and now all is straight/level with "NO THANKS TO COACHMEN." If you attempt to level yours, just take your time and do not make large changes. Make sure that you bring your slide in slowly or small amounts so if you need to change the adjustment you can see what is going on. Hope this helps.

RE: What to do about the ceiling falling down

Rossets, buy at Lowe's or Home Depot, and screws long enough to attach to the metal frame work in the ceiling. I used a small ice pick to go thru the ceiling to find the metal frame work. I used about 4 rossets to go accross from one side to the other and 4 for 8 foot of ceiling from front to back.

RE: Insect screen help please

If you are a litte creative, go to Wal-Mart and get a couple of tea strainers. You can get strainers that are flat and form them to fit the individual need. They do work and are a lot cheaper than the ones sold at Camping World or where ever.

RE: Anyone replaced ice maker line from valve to maker?

Heir Max has given you the right info. Some of the lines are taped or fastened so they can't get against the refer coils, which can get hot enough to melt the tubing. Pull the frig out on some type of support or if you have someone helping, I have seen two people pull the frig out to a point where it can be tilted. One person holds it there and the other person replaces the hose. Good luck,

RE: A/C dripping water into coach

I've had three water leaks related to my air conditioners. On a 1998 Mountian Aire, one of the ceiling air ducts was spliced together with foil tape. The tape came loose allowing the cool air to escape near a ceiling light. The fix, install new tape over the old tape and the open joint. On a 2003 Tradewinds, had a leaking gasket between the unit and the roof. The fix, factory replaced gasket. The Tradewinds also had a leak when the insulation that seals the cool air from the intake air came loose and allowed the two to mix. The fix, installed the insulation and taped over it with aluminum tape. Hope this helps, at least gives you a couple of things to check.

RE: I'm not renewing my membership in FMCA, here's why!!

My guess now is that someone needs to come up with different titles for the forum. Well, maybe not, we could all just quite using it or at least try and figure out what we are (class A, Type A ???????)

RE: Roof leak need help from those who had problem before

I also have a coachmen unit and my windshield wipers are above the windshield. The shafts on the wiper have a rubber boot to seal between the shaft and the motorhome. This where I found my leak. The seal had a small area that did not make good contact with the motorhome. Once this was found and sealed, I had no more leaks.

RE: Sportcoach Encore ?

I've had my Encore since Oct. 2007 and like it very much. Mine has the Mercedes engine and is getting better than 10 mpg. I had a Cat before this and only got 8 to 8.5 mpg. I have not been to happy with Coachmen's support. I had to correct a slideout problem myself, because Coachmen stated, "if it goes in and out and does not leak they will not work on it." The problem was that the slide was installed so that one end was approximately 3/4" lower than the other end. It only took me about 30 minutes to correct. Other than that problem, I have only had maybe 3 or 4 minor things that needed attention. The ride is good and the engine, 330 hp, is more than enough to push the coach through the mountains. I'm in Colorado now. My wife loves the room and the flat floor in the bedroom.

RE: Mercedes diesel

Mine is a 2007 Coachman Encore 40ft with the MBE 926 with 1000 ft. lbs. torque. I've had a 7.2 Cat and I like the Mercedes better. It pulls the hills better and gets over 10 mpg. Saves me about 20 to 30 bucks each time I fill up with the present price of fuel.

RE: Mobile RV service Phoenix ?

I'm not sure where in the Phoenix area you are but, try KISS RV. If they don't do mechanical work, they probably can recommend someone.

RE: Squeek in front cabnets

I had an 03 Tradewinds that had a squeak in the upper cabinets, right hand corner. The squeak was between the front upper cabinet and the right side (passenger) upper cabinets, where the two joined. I stopped mine by taking a small screw, removing the screwhead and forcing the remainder of the screw, lengthwise, between the joint where the two cabinets came together. I tried silcone and everything else that I could think of but the screw insertion stopped the squeak. To get the screw in, I laid it in the corner joint, then used a hammer and screwdriver to drive it in. The corner joint previously had a caulking in the joint, so once the screw was in I reapplied the caulking. Hope this helps,

RE: Atwood Water Heater Nylon plug?

Nylon vs Brass has come up more than once on the forum. The only thing that bugs me is that the relief valve is brass on the Atwood heater, will it not have or create all of the problems that of a brass drain plug????????????.
